Coimbatore: City police have sent a proposal to get 45 new four-wheeled patrol vehicles.
24 four-wheeled patrol vehicles equipped with GPS used now more than 10 to 15 years ago, an officer told TII.

Also, vehicles often experience interference and department spend thousands of rupees on their maintenance,” he said.
The department usually removes patrol vehicles after 10 years used or after 2.5 lakh kilometers.
The vehicle was then sent to the motor vehicle maintenance department in Chennai.
“We have sent a proposal to the office of the Director General of Police to sanction 45 new vehicles.
Vehicles will be equipped with GPS and each station will be given three vehicles,” said Police Commissioner Deepak M Damor, the branch of the city crime and other special units.
