Nagpur: City police have set new benchmarks for themselves by throwing 21,822 cases, including unintentional deaths, and 4,554 other applications in the 11-month range between September last year and July this year for an average of 79 per day.
Except for some cases with tangle law, city police have thrown almost all of the cases last year and also cleared fat until April this year with deputy deputy commissioner police as nodal officers to ensure that police stations wrap probes on time and completed related documents.
Verifying complaints made at the police station and investigating them should be supervised by the CPS assistant, which will report progress to Zonal DCPS.
DCPS has been assigned to oversee chargesheet preparations in important cases.
CP Amitesh Kumar said the disposal of the case was quickly transparent most of the time.
“The police station is given a special deadline to investigate every type of case,” the top police said.
“It’s 60 or 90 days for crime with criminal procedure code mandate (CRPC).
Incidental death cases should be checked within 30 days and the application must be discarded within 15 days,” said CP.
During a seven-hour marathon session, Kumar has also instructed and guides investigative officers about the way each case should be handled and discarded.
“We have instructed investigative officers in cheating cases to call the complainant and defendant before sending a chargesheet to ascertain whether they felt fairly rejected to them,” Kumar said.
CP has also urged zonal DCPs to regulate ‘Takrar Nivaran Diawas’ or day circulation complaints in various companies to ensure that all applications / complaints are handled quickly.
Kumar himself led the afternoon complaint shift session where 153 complaints were handled and instructions were issued for each of the police stations responsible for the disposal of the case.
“We have decided to deal with complaints with the fastest time to instill a feeling of faith.
It is also a legally set norm to resolve complaints and discard cases at the beginning,” CP said.
