City produce 170T excess waste during the Puja Festival

Coimbatore: City has issued 170 tons of waste during the celebration of Ayudha Puja.
Shows that the city is used to produce an average of 800 to 850 tons of waste every day, a city company official said the streets were filled with waste during the Puja Festival and they had collected 941 tons of waste on Thursday and 933 tons on Friday and 907 Tons this Saturday.
He said they had collected only 444 tons of waste on Sundays, when they worked with lean labor.
A city health official confirmed that the corporation had collected around 170 tons of waste during the days of puja.
“Waste that we cannot collect on Sundays was collected on Monday, opening fire on the volume of the day.
The quantity of waste collected today (Monday) will only be collected tomorrow (Tuesday).” Deputy City Commissioner Corporation Dr.
M Sharmila said all energy Work has swung in action to clean city streets, which resemble a dump yard during a puja celebration, without a reservation.
“On the market, traders have left a large number of non-sold banana buds.
We manage waste by effectively utilizing the center of waste collection in the city.” He said there was a mechanism in place in the city to clean the waste without making many sanitation workers.
“One of our focus areas improves city cleanliness.”
