City reported 5 new cases, tally at 130

Kanpur: Five cases of Zika virus infection were reported in the city on Tuesday, taking calculation of up to 130.
In a sample investigation report, five fresh positive cases for Zika had been found in reports received from the Kgmu Microbiology Laboratory, Lucknow, on Tuesday.
The number of infected people has now reached 130, where 69 reports became negative and the total active case reached 61.
Chief Medical Officer Dr.
Nepal Singh, “with five newer Zika virus cases, Tally In City (Kanpur)) now stands at 130.
“However, so far 69 people have recovered and tested negatively.
Zika cases are active in Kanpur now standing in 61,” CMO said.
Additional Director of Medical Health and Family Welfare, Kanpur Division, Dr.
GK Mishra, said, “Great surveillance in Zika’s infected area has been launched.
Almost, 100 teams have conducted a total survey on the edge of a three-km area.
We focus on male and pregnant women , which suffers from fever or has symptoms of Zika in the survey.
At present the sample of 156 people is collected.
“Source reduction training on Tuesday was carried out at 3,108 houses in the affected bag.
Mishra said and added further, “In addition to fogging, the activity to destroy the source of mosquitoes is widely carried out.”
