Pune: The Civic Agency is working on a proposal to build a flyover or class separator on the stretch of Pirangut Road which is busy towards Bhugaon in front of Chandni Chowk to facilitate the movement of vehicles in the area, which has seen bursts in housing projects and commercial companies such as restaurants and banquet rooms for several last year.
Pune Municipal Corporation official said there was a plan to appoint a consultant to take a feasibility study from a separate separator or a class separator on a stretch.
However, the local canporator said the proposal was submitted after traffic congestion on stretching.
Dilip Wede Patil, a local canporator, said the project would increase the flow of traffic on a busy stretch.
“Introduction Inspections have been made to provide several facilities such as deserted in this stretch.
Some funds are also set aside in the civilian budget for the facility,” said Patil.
Harshad Rane, a regular commuter, said, “There are two to three important locations that are susceptible to traffic congestion.
The vehicle takes turns at these points disturbing traffic flow.
Flyover or grade separators can provide direct access to vehicles that want to pass,” Rane said.
The road is getting towards Bhugaon-Mulshi and further to Tamhini Ghat.
Mangesh Thakar, a resident of Bhukum, said the stretch of Chandni Chowk to Pirangut requires widening the road.
A PMC official said the steps were initiated to appoint consultants for pre-school and project supervision projects.
