Chennai: The State Election Commission on Tuesday directed the district / district election officers to form a flying squad for one to three Panchayat trade unions in local rural bodies that would go to the poll on October 6 and 9.
Official release said the flying team would consist From the executive judge in the rank of Tahsildars and division income revenues, in addition to police personnel.
Troops must function 24 hours in shift.
“The district collectors were told to form a necessary flying team that could function for eight hours in a shift.
Troops must ensure that the model code of behavior is strictly enforced,” said the broadcast.
The regu’s responsibility is to check complaints on violations of model codes, intimidation, anti-social activities, liquor and distribution of money to voters.
“Flying troops must seize when party agents or cadres carry cash of 50,000 and more without documents, banners, and election goods worth Rs 10,000 and more, drugs and liquor,” the broadcast said.
