Kolkata: Election of four civil bodies – Bidhannagar, Siliguri, Asansol and Chandannagar – scheduled for January 22 have been suspended by three weeks to 12 February.
The State Election Commission (SEC) on Saturday issued dismissal of new notifications immediately after the state government told the Calcutta High Court that he did not have a problem with the delay considering the covid pandemic, reported Debashis Konar.
Vote counting will be held on February 15, SEC sources said.
On Friday night, Trinamool and BJP Congress, wrote to the SEC that proposed delays in polls.
