Civic’s body was ordered to end a 15-year garden dispute with NIT

Nagpur: After the instructions from the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, BJP-ruled Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is ready to end a 15-year dispute with the trust of repair of Nagpur (NIT) for the last to take over the garden and maintenance.
None of the two authorities who took care of the garden after the controversy broke 16 months ago.
“Gadkari suggested that NMC keep all the gardens and NIT take care of all the playgrounds in a recent meeting.
Even Gadkari instructed NMC not to ask for funds for the funds for the work and maintenance of the garden,” the source of the NMC told TII.
This step will open the way to execute more work in the garden and the right operation and maintenance by NMC.
Confirming development, the ruling party leader in NMC Avinash Thakre said, “The proposal will appear for discussion in a meeting of public bodies.
Because the gardens are intended to the public, NMC will take responsibility for operation and maintenance.
We expect a number of funds from NIT to run work And garden maintenance.
“Nit has made more than 100 gardens in various parts of the city where 29 small gardens were handed over to NMC in May 2005.
After Nit made several large parks, the civil body refused to take over the remaining parks.
In June 2013, Nit again made a decision to submit 60 small and medium gardens to NMC.
Again, the Civic body rejected Nit’s proposal.
The state government made the NMC City Planning Authority and attracted NIT’s strength in 2019.
On June 16, 2020, Nit handed over 51 gardens to NMC.
At that time, the NMC administration took over the garden.
Stating that the parks lack policy decisions, the general body issued a resolution to delay taking over.
NMC then asked for NIT to take back the park that was never done last.
Following complaints by the Canporator and citizens, NMC is left without choice but to operate and maintain the majority of 51 gardens.
The government restored the power of planning authorities to Nit in February.
Again, the Civic body asked Nit to take back the garden but the last one refused to do it.
“NMC involves security guards and contractors to maintain a park in Suyog Nagar.
Nit does not complete work in a new park developed in the colony of friends in Narendra Nagar.
We are completing work from funds approved by Devendra Fadnivis during his term as cm,” Thakre said.
BJP Corporator Virendra Kukreja said, “I ensure that the NMC continues with security agents and contractors involved by NIT in Dairand Park in Jaripatka.
We cannot close or leave the garden because they are beneficial for people.” Corporator Corporator Manoj Sangole accused the three parks.
In his ware it is not managed by NMC or by NIT.
“The garden is in a bad condition because of a dispute between the two institutions.
The authorities must not leave the infrastructure developed at the cost of public money,” he said.
