Ranchi: In an effort to prevent the potential epidemic of dengue and chikungunya, the state health division is gearing up to run a entomological survey from June 15.
This comes from the wake of cyclone Yaas-induced clogs which left many regions waterlogged, thus developing a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
A correspondence in this regard was issued with additional principal secretary (wellness ) Arun Kumar Singh, directing each of the civil leaders to formulate a plan to control the potential spread and apply that in the first.
According to Singh’s correspondence, the civil leaders are requested to submit a comprehensive plan on comprising the potential outbreak into the health division by June 10 and also to begin implementing the preventative steps by June 15.
“We’re fighting the pandemic and if we don’t take immediate measures for removing the danger of a potential epidemic of chikungunya and dengue, the problem will get worse,” the letter read.
The order also directed the authorities concerned to begin preparing for running an entomological survey, making necessary structures for sentinel surveillance in the hospitals, regular blood evaluation of supposed patients and running appropriate IEC from the endemic regions.
Upon entrance, say entomologist Sagya Singh stated,”We shall begin our statewide poll from June 15 to identify and analyse the larval density in imagined regions that helps us in removing the danger of a potential outbreak.
