Nagpur: Nagpur bench Bombay High Court has been seeking clarification from the Chandrapur Supervisor from Police (SP) on registration of 54 firs on human death due to wildlife attacks within three weeks.
The direction came when he heard the Pill (No.1 / 2021) submitted by Delhi’s wildlife activist, Sangeeta Dogrra highlighted the problem of conflicts of humans that lead to the number of human deaths caused by animal attacks where the presence of more tiger populations.
One of the districts is Chandrapur, where according to the applicant, around 54 deaths have occurred due to animal attacks in the past six months.
While Zeeshan Ali was appointed as Amicus Curiae, a special adviser Kartik Shukuk pluled Maharashtra’s name.
, He showed that there was an error in collecting data regarding the number of human deaths that were actually caused by dangerous animals such as tigers, leopards and bear sloths.
There is also a palpable lacuna in identifying the culprit and this has caused the arrest of unreasonable tigers, leopards, and bears, he showed.
