Lucknow: If everything goes well, Lucknow University (Lu) will start the first semester class from the 41 Postgraduate Course (PG) at the end of the month.
After the third round counseling for seats at various courses took place on Tuesday, candidates who wanted to enter were directed to submit fees on November 11.
It will take at least two weeks for all teaching in the future.
This year, the first semester session had been delayed around five months.
Lu offered PG in around 41 subjects.
Overall, there are around 3,900 seats in this course.
The second semester class starts in July according to the academic calendar.
However, the process of receiving semester I – which is usually completed at the end of June – postponed this year due to restrictions imposed during the second wave of pandemic.
The application form distribution began in August and the entrance test for various courses was held in the first two weeks of September.
The plan is to start the first semester class as soon as Diwali, but because a number of seats in various PG courses remain empty even after two rounds of counseling, the receipt process takes one more week.
Now, the candidate who has allocated a seat must report with the original document for verification, which is expected to be consumed one more week.
After that, the class is expected to start.
Lu Durgesh Srivastava spokesman claimed, “Varsity is almost finished with the reception of PG and the first semester class will begin soon.” Explain why seats in several courses remain empty, senior faculty members said that although all universities and universities have been postponed because of a pandemic, the reception process has stretched longer.
As a result, many candidates took acceptance at other institutions that were worried that if they failed to enter Lu, throughout the year they would be in vain, he added.
Meanwhile, the late at the beginning of the class had left the candidate, who had chosen seats in the first round, worried about their future.
“The six-month delay will have an impact on our studies and careers in the future because we will not be eligible for competitive examinations carried out by various institutions that follow the July-June academic calendar,” said Ashutosh Singh, a candidate.
Other candidates, Prashant Srivastava, said that the academic session of all educational institutions throughout India was delayed, but Lu’s delay was longer.
“I am worried that in an effort to cover delays, the syllabus will be borne in a short time, which may be difficult to follow by many students to be followed and learned,” he added.
However, Lu officials said that the session would be arranged by holding additional classes and suspending holidays.
“We have decided to continue the class even on the winter and summer holidays, so that the syllabus can be completed on time without putting extra burden on students,” he added.
