Class VII-VIII can return to school on November 25: Goa Govt

PANAJI: The state government on Monday allows schools to conduct physical classes for class VII and VIII from November 25.
Bhushan Savaikar’s education director said that the extensive SOP will be issued on Tuesday.
Last week, the State Expert Committee, based on the recommendation of the Covid Task Force, has given its approval to start the offline class from class I to VIII.
But CM and Minister of Education Pramod Sawant said that the government still examined the proposal.
Officials now said that there was no agreement that came from the government about allowing physical classes to class I to VIII, even though the expert committee doctor bears that it is safe to even hold the class for the nursery section due to the country’s covid covid level at low throughout the time.
In accordance with the decision of the task force, for class VII and VIII, will be submitted to school management to make calls on how to do physical classes based on registration, infrastructure, and other land conditions.
Already, the session for class IX to XII is in the state in Hybrid mode – using an online and offline class combination.
The Expert Committee has warned that the SOP issued by the Directorate of Education must be treated as a broad guideline, and that management must compile their own instructions for students to ensure social distance and other prevention actions against Covid.
According to the expert committee advice, the school is not to regulate the Assembly, and must adopt the staggered timings.
The school has been asked to advise parents to take both vaccination doses.
School staff have been told to produce covid-negative certificates every week if they are not vaccinated.
