SURAT: At first, the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) will begin courses for benchmark XI and XII in universities conducted by the civic body.
The decision had been accepted by the SMC standing committee on Thursday.
It was decided to provide free education to women in Class IX to XII.
Complete 14 branch of Class XI and XII is going to be launched, of which eight would be for Gujarati moderate, four to Marathi moderate and 2 to get Hindi moderate.
SMC operate Nagar Prathmik Shikshan Samiti (NPSS) functions 328 main schools at the Diamond City.
NPSS also conducts 18 Suman High School for students of Class IX and X.
The courses for pupils of regular XI and XII is going to be opened in six Suman High Schools.
“Until now we’re devoting instruction up to Class X.
Whereas in many cities civic figures are providing instruction up to primary school degree.
We’re currently the very first municipal company in the nation to get start courses for conventional XI and XII in municipal colleges,” said Paresh Patel, chairman of both SMC status committee.
Complete 910 pupils will be admitted into such courses.
The choice of free schooling for women will gain over 4,000 women, SMC officials asserted.
