Lucknow: Taking Jibe on what it described as a pull of the war in the powerful BJP to claim credit for Purvanchal Expressway which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, the head of the Jamajwadi Party Akhilesh Yadav described the classic project of how BJP ‘seized’ other people’s initiatives.
Previously on that day, hours before the Prime Minister reached Sultanpur to dedicate toll roads to people, Akhilesh fell to Twitter to slam BJP in power to claim credit for the project.
“The ribbon comes from Lucknow and Scissors from New Delhi.
There is a TUG-OF-WAR to claim credit for the Samajwadi Party project …” Part of his Tweet in Hindi.
Then on the day in the press statement Akhilesh said it would be better to have the prime minister, while dedicating the project to people in the country, stating that it was conceived and initiated by SP.
“It is the SP government that announces that the budget provisions will be made for a freeway while putting the foundation on the Gala event held outside Vidhan Sabha in December 2016,” he added: “It is the SP government that released money for land acquisition for the project.
“The former cm rose to attack BJP who was in power by saying that the SP government received Lucknow – Agra Expressway was completed in 22 months which was a record by itself.
SP has claimed BJP is five years behind SP in terms of providing landing facilities and takeoff for fighter aircraft on the freeway that the BJP in power tries to show off by air.
“We have done it five years ago when combat jets touched Lucknow – Agra Expressway,” he said.
More than a dozen IAF aircraft, including Mirage-2000 fighters and Sukhoi 30s, in addition to the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft, participated in training near Bangarma, about 65 kilometers from Lucknow in December 2016.
