Ghaziabad: More than five old lakh vehicles in Ghaziabad have not installed a plate of high security registration (HSRP), although the deadline for the same end in 15 days.
Last year, the Ghaziabad Regional Transportation Office kicked the process for installing HSRP in registered vehicles before April 2019.
“The deadline for installing HSRS in all registered vehicles before April 2019 is April 15 this year.
But due to Covid disorders, the deadline is extended until September 30 , “said Vishujeet Singh, additional regional transportation officers (Arto), administration.
“In Ghaziabad, there are around 7.77 lakh old vehicles – registered on or before April 2019 – but the plate of high security numbers has been installed in just 28% of the vehicle, which is a little more than 2.20 lakh vehicles.

According to the rules, there are provisions to impose the RS 5,500 penalty in vehicles without HSRP.
“Although there are provisions to impose a fine, we have not received any direction of the state government about the nature of the penalty on vehicles that are not equipped with such platees,” said Singh.

Explain the process, Singh said, “Vehicle owners must first visit www.bookmyhsrp.com and then choose from a list of car manufacturers such as Tata and Hyundai, their vehicle manufacturing companies.
Then they then have to visit other pages on the site to choose the state and district .

In the format available, the vehicle owner must fill in details such as the registration number and cellphone number and make payments – Rs 600 for cars and rs 300 for two wheels, “said Singh .
The vehicle owner will then be given a date and time slot where they can come and get a high security plate installed in their vehicle.
Meanwhile, the dealer will continue details of HSRP to Rosmerta HSRP Ventures Pvt Ltd.
HSRP, which is valid for 15 years, has features such as chromium-based holograms.
