NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: The UP government has directed all primary health centers, the back part of the rural health system, be emptied. The authorities had on April 16 requested the district administrations to close PHCs and also install the team there for Covid responsibility. The authorities purchase, issued earlier this week, comes following a spike in Covid instances in rural locations and amid calls to reinforce the health care system. Most villagers with Covid signs have expired over the last couple of months in the lack of testing and appropriate therapy. “We’ve begun a survey of primary health centers. While community health centers are catering to citizens, a few PHCs need to get restored. We’ll forward to the authorities information about what tools are required in such health centers,” said Deepak Ohri, the chief medical officer of Noida. In Ghaziabad, DM Ajay Shankar Pandey stated a 15-day interval was set to trigger all of the sub-centres from the villages. “Currently, a combined audit of the healthcare division, district management and civic bodies is happening in 3 tehsils. There’ll be two beds together with oxygen concentrators in every one of the centers. Villagers will even get the centre of vaccination and testing here,” he added. The authorities had given in its order which the PHCs could be supplied using antigen kits that villagers may be analyzed there. “The concept would be to bolster the screening procedure in the village level,” said an official. Noida and Greater Noida possess five community health centers and 33 PHCs. Though the CHCs are still operational, just 20 PHCs are currently catering to the local people on a normal basis. The rest are in a dilapidated condition or was opened through Arogya Melas (mass healthcare outreach programs ). In Ghaziabad, although four CHCs and one PHC are operational, just eight of extra 15 PHCs are available in rural locations. The remainder are closed over issues associated with infrastructure (power, water and structure ) and personnel shortage.
