Closure: In the dead file, Gujarat police found missing

Ahmedabad: When the Anand Police Team approached a family in Sarsa – about 19 km from Anand City – with a photo of a woman, the family would be surprised.
The 61-year-old woman, the mother of the family, has been lost since January 2010.
The family lost hope to get news after more than a decade, even when she died legally after seven years left lost.
But the body in the picture is definitely his, with a physical description and clothing that suits him perfectly even because of the distorted facial features due to the beginning of decomposition.
The body, found near Dakor in the Kededa district, was found three months after the report was lost.
“It was less than 40 km between two points, but it took 11 years for families and police to get closure,” said M H Bhati, sub-inspector of the forces of the people missing from Anand police.
According to the children’s portal missing from the Indian government, Gujarat still has around 10,000 people missing, as if every day about three to four people are missing for reasons from kidnapping mental illness.
In another spectrum, there are also a number of unknown deaths whose bottom photos are buried in police files.
In a unique experiment, Anand police have begun the match of 1,000 unidentified dead people found in seven districts over the past decade, with around 500 strange people missing from Anand since 2007, and have found 11 matches.
Ajit Raijan, SP Anand, said that he had started a pilot project to connect an unclaimed / unknown corpse with the missing people when he was in the range of the letter several years ago.
“That’s where I realized that with some perseverance and attention to detail, it was possible to get a match.
So, when I came here, we made a database of all unknown bodies from Anand, Kheda, Ahmedabad Rural, Vadodara Rural and Bharuch – Accounting for around 1,000 people – over the past decade, “he said.
District, since 2007, has around 500 people missing.
Shock or rejection for the family: How does family members feel about the discovery after 5-10 years about the death of their relatives? Rajian said that rather than police procedures, this was an exercise to give family closure.
“Until the body is found, someone almost always lives for the family.
Finding the body also helps in settling insurance claims or getting other benefits in some cases,” he said.
“But in most cases, we have gotten one of three responses – the family is very surprised but happy that they have the news at least, in complete denial and don’t want to work together, and accept it pragmatically.” He added that in all cases where the body of the body DNA was saved, they matched it with the family.
“The problem arises when people who are missing are migrants or have changed their addresses,” King said.
Fast resolution: In some cases, the gap between reports of people lost and found is a few days – in one of the cases, a 35-year-old man from the Kathlal police station area was reported missing on May 14, 2016, and …
the body was found from the city of Anand on May 18 – while in some cases, the gap was several years.
A 42-year-old man was reportedly missing from Sojitra in 2015, and his body was found from Jawaharnagar near Vadodara in 2019, after four years.
Some deaths have occurred in accidents on the road, while in some cases the cause is natural or unknown.
