Chennai: new cases that declined across Tamil Nadu for more than two months began to rise a little over the past two days.
They rose 100 cases to 1,859 on Thursday.
On Friday, the country reported 1,947 new cases.
Coimbatore, where the industry returned to work with full force, and Chennai saw a small cluster that contributed to the increase in cases.
This has not surprisingly fully for the State Health Department, who expects a decrease in the case to slow down two weeks after relaxing locking.
A week after each phase unlocks, the rate falls down.
“Any spike in case is the cause of concern, especially with neighboring countries that report high amounts,” said Minister of Health MA Subramanian.
In February 2021, when epidemic waves were receding, similar clusters – hostels, hotels and family reunions – marked the beginning of the deadly wave.
“It’s a little more than two weeks since the industry is opened with full force in the western region,” said Deputy Director back to Public Health Dr.
Senthil Kumar.
On Friday, the district crossed 200-mark.
“We have now identified two areas – tendrils and caramadai – which began to see increased cases.
This area has many industries and people’s movements,” he said.
The challenge now is to make sure the curve doesn’t rise again.
As a precautionary measure, the State Health Department has instructed the district to ensure they track all index cases and test more people against infection.
During the past week, the RTPCR test has risen from around 1.3 lakh to 1.5 lakh throughout the state.
In Chennai, citizenship officials have also noticed the marginal increase in groups, especially from family meetings, parties and dinner, in addition to workplaces and markets.
The choice of individuals and features on the appropriate behavior of Covid plays an important role, said Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan.
“The decline in the mask or social distance protocol has proven to be one of the biggest causes for a surge,” he said.
On June 26, the city reported 122 new cases, and on Friday 215.
