Bengaluru: CM BS Yediyurappa on Saturday invited Mitra Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin, for the conversation about the controversial Cauvery project to build a reservoir in Mekedatu, about 90 km from Bengaluru.
Yediyurappa on Saturday wrote a letter to Stalin, suggesting talks to clean up the worries of Tamil Nadu about the project and underlining the importance of the two countries.
TN has opposed the project, claiming to deny the part of Cauvery water.
The project will not affect farmers: cmstalin recently met PM Modi with requests detained by the project.
Karnataka CM said in a letter that it would be an interest “all who cared and had a better relationship between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu if the Government of Mr., in the right spirit, would not oppose the implementation of the project.” Stalin cm water information is in line with the final command of the Cauvery water dispute and then modified by the Supreme Court to produce 400 megawatts of power.
This project, began to meet the needs of drinking water and water in Karnataka, including the city of Bengaluru, did not affect the interests of the Mr.
Agricultural Community, he said.
He tried to attract Stalin’s attention to many projects taken by TN in Cauvery sub-basins without negotiating with carnataka.
While TN has submitted an application before SC against the project, Karnataka seeks a central nod to refer to conduct environmental impact assessment studies, said Yediyurappa.
