New Delhi: Chairman of the Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday called an emergency meeting to overcome severe air pollution in the city, with the Supreme Court asking authorities to take steps immediately.
The meeting, which will be held at 5pm, will be attended by Deputy Minister of Manish Sisodia, Minister of Health Satyendar Jain, Minister of Environment Secretary of Gopal Rai and Delhi, officials said.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court called the increase in air pollution in Delhi-NCR as a “emergency situation”, emphasizing that important steps needed to be taken.
The Apex Court also recorded the opening of the school in Delhi and asked the authority to take immediate action such as placing vehicles from the road and clamping locking in Delhi.
It asked the center and Delhi government to take immediate steps to curb pollution and report back on Monday.
