Chandigarh: The Department of Civil Aviation Punjab on Monday urged the Uttar Pradesh Government to allow Chopper Chararjit Minister Singh Channi to land so he could visit Lakhimpur Kheri, where eight people were killed when violence erupted during the protest of a farmer the day before.
Violence takes place on Sunday, claims the lives of farmers and BJP workers ahead of the visit to Lakhimpur by Deputy Minister of Uttar Pradesh Keshav Prasad Maurya.
“As you know because the situation arising from the incident and the death of farmers who peacefully protested at Lakhimpur Kheri from Uttar Pradesh, the head of the Minister wanted to visit the family concerned with them during this sadness,” Director of the Civil Aviation Department, Punjab, wrote for Add the Secretary of the Head, House, Kumar Awasthi Cloud.
“Asked that permissions can be given to landing and takeoff (of) CM helicopters.
Also requested that adequate arrangements can be made so that the Minister of Chief can meet with the caring family,” he added.
Previously, Deputy Minister Punjab Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa also said that he would visit Lakhimpur Kheri for the assessment of the situation there.
