Patna: Head of Bihar Minister Nith Kumar on Wednesday conducted a flood-affected area air survey with the Ganges River and asked the district (DMS) of 12 districts located on the banks of the river to take all the steps needed to meet the upcoming flood challenges .
Previously on that day, CM visited various places along the Ganges River in Patna and Vaishali districts through the road to take stock of water trends on the river.
After inspection rising water level in a different location, Nitish asked officials, especially DMS from 12 river districts, to make all the preparations that need to remember the impact of flood water from Ganges in 2016, CM said, flood water from Ganga had spread to the laying area And a low diary in 12 districts due to a large increase on the surface of the water in Ganga.
Riverine districts affected in 2016, are Buxar, Bhojpur, Suggestions, Vaishali, Patna, Samastipur, Begusarai, LakhiCarai, Munger, Bhagalpur, Khagaria and Katihar.
Immediately after calculating increased water trends in the Ganges, Nitish held a meeting that emerged with DMS from 12 Riverine districts through video conferencing and issued the instructions needed.
Nitish asks all 12 DM to always remain in warning mode taking into account the trend of water levels in Ganga.
He also asked DM to stay in touch with the people affected by flooding and gave all the assistance needed to affected families.
DMS is also asked to provide all the necessary facilities in relief camps in accordance with the standard operating procedure (SOP).
“Create a fodder setting for animals in all aid camps,” Nitish told DMS during the meeting.
CM further shows that the state government has made provisions for payment of RS 15,000 at the birth of a girl in a flood and 10,000 RS assistance camp at the boy in the pelele camp.
He asked DM to ensure immediate payment of this number to parents as soon as the child was born in a flood assistance camp.
Engineers Department of Road Construction and Rural Work Departments are asked to take daily renewal of roads in flood-affected areas.
Engineers and officials of the Department of Water Resources are asked to maintain constant vigiles on embankments and surfaces in different rivers, especially Ganga who have maintained increased trends over the past few days.
