Bhubaneswar: Chairman of the Minister of Naveen Patnaik on Friday launched a home improvement assistance distribution of RS 3,000 for recipients of rural housing schemes.
As part of the initiative, the financial assistance of RS 1,444 Crore has been released to almost 31 lakh pucca house.
Beneficiaries, the official source said.
In accordance with the cabinet decision taken on December 21, the state government will also provide RS 5,000 to each recipient who fulfills identified conditions that are not equipped with Pucca homes for repairs to their own residence.
Odisha is the only country that distributes home improvement assistance to beneficiaries of the Pucca house.
Money has been released to recipient accounts about 15 days after the Cabinet Approval of the State Cabinet, said the minister’s chairman.
Naveen said several people in the 14 coastal areas whose homes were broken during Cyclone Fani were waiting to get a pucca house under the pradhan mantri awas yojana-gramine (pmay-g).
Similarly, many families in the South and Western tribal district are also waiting to get a house under the central scheme.
“I have attracted the central attention in this regard , “said Naveen.
The 12.25 lakh 12.25 lakh identified in the country is waiting to get a pucca house under the central scheme, the official source said.
Sunginan BJP Golak Mohapatra said this step was intended for the publicity of the BJD government and to mislead the poor.
