CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin on Tuesday launched an enhanced financial assistance for folk artists under the indigent artist pension scheme.
This will benefit a total of 6,600 classical, folk and theatre artistes in the state.
The financial assistance was enhanced from Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000.
The state government had recently issued an order in connection with the enhancement of the monthly dole to the folk artists.
The CM handed over cheques to 11 beneficiaries.
