Gandhinagar: Immediately after assuming post bills in Gujarat, Chairman of the Minister of Bhupendra Patel on Monday held a high-level meeting to review situations such as floods created due to heavy rain in Saurashtra and especially in various district Jamnagar and Rajkot.
In accordance with the office of the minister’s chairman (CMO), the new main minister conducted a telephone conversation with Jamnagar collectors and gave clear instructions for rescue operations and assistance.
He asked officials to carry out the evacuation of people trapped in water with the help of the National Disaster Response (NDRF).
“He looks for details about the condition of the AJI-2 Dam reservoir due to heavy rains in Rajkot and urges the Commissioner and Rajkot Municipal collector to move people from low areas to a safe place immediately,” CMO said.
In Rajkot, CM also got details about 1,155 people living in the lying area in Aji which shifted to safer places.
“Bhupendra Patel instructed the system operator to set 3 NDRF teams from Rajkot and 2 teams for Jamnagar from Bhatinda.
He is specifically ordered to give a priority to save and add to the operation,” he added.
The leader of the Bharatiya Janata and Ghatlodia Mla Bhupendra Patel took an oath as the 17th CM Gujarat today.
It is believed that Patel has a strong influence in the Patide community in Gujarat, which is compared to BJP to win the upcoming election.
The announcement of the name of the 59-year-old BJP leader as chosen by CM at the BJP legislative meeting on Sunday came as a surprise for many people because MLA Low Profiles were not seen among the top competitors for the post.
Born in Ahmedabad, Patel is the first MLA from the Ghatlodia chair, a post previously held by Anandiben Patel, who currently serves as Governor of Uttar Pradesh at the additional cost of Madhya Pradesh.
The party relied on Patel to navigate parties through difficult waters during the upcoming assembly election in 2022.
In the 2017 state election, BJP won 99 assembly chairs 182 countries and Congress received 77 seats.
