Coimbatore: Minister M K Stalin inaugurated a combined drinking water scheme for neighboring districts and tirupur on Wednesday.
Implemented with the cost of RS 241 Crore, water for the project will be taken from the Bhavani River.
While Stalin inaugurated a scheme through video conferencing from Chennai, a small event was held at the District Collector’s office on the day with the PL Samination Publicitivity Minister who lived in Panchayats would get 90 liters of water every day and their colleagues in rural areas 40 liters.
“This scheme is planned in such a way as to meet the requirements of population drinking water in these areas in 2050.
While the population will increase by 2.36 lakh in 2035, the water supply will increase to 21.07 million liters.
Water supply will increase to 31.42 million liters in 2050, when the population in these areas is expected to shoot up to 4.2 lakh.
“In Panchayats City, Minister said, water supply will increase to 16 million liters in 2050.” in the 155 rural settlements , water supply will increase to 15.42 million liters in 2050.
