Ranchi: Head of Minister of Hemant Soren on Friday urged city residents to leave the five-foot area in front of their land so that the government could make a sustainable, clean, and world-class Ranchi with the hassle free mobility.
Appeal for citizen participation in city infrastructure development, Soren said, “There are several regions in the state of the state that cannot be easily accessed by emergency vehicles because the road is not wide enough.
To eliminate this problem, I will ask residents to leave at least five feet In front of their land so that the required urban infrastructure can be built by the government and make it a world-class city.
“Soren spoke at an event organized by the Urban Development Department in the Jaipal Singh Stadium to put the foundation of 45 infrastructure projects worth RS 84 Crore in all cities.
He said the government itself could not provide all-round development without residents’ support.
Soren also emphasizes to maintain ecological balance along with urbanization and city development and say the government believes in inclusive growth that does not interfere with the environment.
“The degradation of green cover in cities for development is not a real development and we have directed all the urban local bodies to plant puppies on all government land that are not used so that the environmental balance is maintained,” he said.
Soren also expressed his displeasure of the condition of Lake Ranchi and the Jaipal Singh Stadium which was very important.
“I feel sad to see the condition of Bada Talaab (Lake Ranchi) and the Jaipal Singh Stadium and both of them will be upgraded and turn into a tourist hotspot,” he said.
Furthermore ministers said almost all urban infrastructure needed repairs.
“It has become a routine – as soon as it starts drizzling, the power supply goes out and the streets are flooded with water.
We have to fix it so that citizens can have better accessibility to urban facilities,” he added.
Then on that day, Soren directed the officials concerned to develop projects he launched on Friday with the best construction materials, failed to be faced by the contractor.
“We launched a decent project for crores but if this is built badly and if something compromised with the quality of work, they will be taken to the task,” he said.
Of the 45 projects, 38 will be built by Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC), five by the Ranchi Regional Development Authority and two by the Arm of Infrastructure Construction Department of Urban State, Juidco.
Some important projects launched include road construction projects, waterways, open drains cover in various RMC environments along with several major projects including re-development and cleaning Vivekanda Sarovar (Bada Talaab), Landscaping and Development of Morhabadi Ground and Urban Development Development on Kanke Road.
