Kolkata: Chief Minister of Mamata Banerjee is likely to visit North Bengal from September 6-9.
This will be his first visit to Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar after the assembly poll.
Banerjee is likely to hold an administrative meeting at Uttya, the North Bengal secretariat, and review various projects and ongoing schemes, including the Sarkar Duare program.
The proposed CM schedule follows certain developments in Bengal’s North politics.
Former Minister of Development Department of North Benggal from Cooch Behar, Rabindranath Ghosh, took over the Chairperson of the North Benggal Development Board (NBDB) in Siliguri on Thursday.
On the same day, the head of the Gorkhha Faction Janmukti Morcha (GJM) Anit Thapa submitted his party resignation, a few weeks after Binoy Tamang stopped and asked the Gorkha Bimal Gurung leader, who had threw his weight behind the Trinamool poll.
Also, this visit was on time after the Junior Minister Nisith Pramanik and John Barla participated in BJP Shaheed Samman Yatra in Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar.
Political observers sharply after Trinamool recovery plans in Darjeeling, Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri, where BJP won most of the chairs even though the show was bad in Bengal.
Ghosh took over as NBDB’s chairman assumed that the BJP Cooch leader Behar Pramanik was made Union MOS for home affairs.
BJP also made MP Alipurduar Barla a Minister of Union Suniaw, sent a signal to the Adivasis in Dooars that the party took care of them.
Trinamool’s source said Banerjee wanted to break the BJP support base in North Bengal by taking it because it guaranteed sentiment for separate North Bengal countries.
“Oto Shoja Noi (not easy).
We will not allow BJP to divide Bengal.
Bengal will remain intact,” CM said on Wednesday.
Banerjee can speak with a public meeting in Jalpaiguri or Alipurduar during the Proposed North Bengal visit.
