Bhubaneswar: The Minister of Chairman of Naveen Patnaik on Thursday inaugurated the Tea Packaging Unit of Consumer Tata limited products at Gopalpur Industrial Park in the Ganjam district through video conferencing.
The RS 100 Crore factory assigned in 18 months will create employment opportunities for more than 900 people.
The factory with the current production capacity of 15 million kg will be developed as the largest tea packaging plant in this country because the company has planned to increase its capacity to 50 million kg.
This is one of the most modern units with all advanced technology, official statement words.
This unit will meet the needs of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Central India.
It is operated by Private Limited Plantations, a second-largest consumer consumer colleague and producer in India.
Praising the role of the Tata Group in Odisha, he said it has played an important role in the development of the country’s industry.
He also appreciated the support of Tata Group to the state government to handle pandemics.
“They (tatas) also come forward in betraying social development by partnering with state governments in education, health and skills development initiatives,” said Naveen.
He said Odisha continued to stay at the forefront of industrial development in India.
The policy framework and the Odisha facilitation mechanism has succeeded in mobilizing investment in various sectors such as petrochemical, food processing, clothing and clothing.
Diversification of ongoing industrial bases will further increase job opportunities in Odisha, he added.
Industry Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra described the progress of the country in the development of the industry in the past two decades.
He said the state has provided a stable platform for industry for healthy growth.
Steel Tata Tata Managing Director V Narendran said that the company has invested more than Rs 60,000 Crore in Odisha in the last five years while Tata Steel has also invested the RS 500 Crore for infrastructure development in the Economic Zone special Gopalpur which stretches more than 2,970 hectares on the east coast.
