CM Naveen Patnaik launches a smart health card for cash without cash

Bhubaneswar / Coraput: Head of Minister of Naveen Patnaik on Friday Submit the First Smart Health Card Under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) to Sukri Dhangda Majhi – Member of the Primitive Bonda Tribe – in a program in Malkangiri Regency, marked the new initial phase in government efforts State to bring health care to marginalized and poor people.
While BSKY was initially launched on August 15, 2018, which covers around 71 lakh families, the government now aims to include a total of 96 lakh households (around 3.5 crore people) under the expanded scheme to be implemented since September 1.
The state government decided to expand the health insurance scheme that often ignored BJP opposition’s request to implement the central Ayushman Bharat scheme.
Overcoming meetings, Naveen said every life is very valuable.
He stressed that financial constraints should not be an obstacle for anyone in getting quality health care.
“Under the revised scheme, beneficiaries do not have to produce any documents in the hospital to take advantage of the benefits.
He just went to the hospital with a smart card and utilized care without money without any hassle.
This is the first of its kind throughout the country,” said Naveen, made his first way outside the state capital since the second wave Covid struck.
The main minister said it was a paradigm shift in the Indian health service system where a patient could get the best treatment without spending money.
While the card allows each family to take advantage of free maintenance to RS 5 lakh per year, female members can take advantage of the benefits of up to 10 lakhs every year in more than 200 hospitals in and outside Odisha.
“Health is very important for all.
It is said that health is wealth.
We are often worried about managing funds for care if anyone falls ill.
Sometimes people have to sell property or choose loans while others are forced to stop their child’s education to pay for home contributions sick, “said Naveen, added,” Smart health cards will reduce the burden to bear the cost of care.
People can spend their savings about their children’s education and for other household costs.
“About 1.55 lakh smart cards will be distributed in Malkangiri Alone where almost half a dozen ministers and senior BJD leaders will camp in the Malkangiri district for the next few days.
