CM: No need to hold a meeting of the head of religion

Thiruvananthapuram: Chairman of Pinarayi Vijayan’s Minister said in the Assembly that there was no need to hold a meeting of heads of religion and the community to ensure communal harmony in the state.
“There is no such circumstances that apply in the state to hold such meetings,” he said.
He answered questions raised by opposition members to meet the meeting of the Head of Religion to restore communal harmony that had been suspected of being annoyed by the comments of ‘Narcotics Jihad’ made by Bishop M Mar Joseph Kallaragatt.
The minister’s chairman said that there were no problems raised to trigger hatred and disputes between various religious communities in the state.
But there are several media reports that there has been an effort to create communal hatred in the community.
The statement by the chairman of the minister in the assembly contradicts the attitude he has taken before when the narcotics jihad statement comes from the bishop nutmeg.
He then said that narcotics were social crimes and it had nothing to do with religion.
UDF has demanded a meeting of the Head of Religion after comments from the Bishop.
The main minister then said that such demand can be considered.
However, the minister’s chairman refused the request to hold all party meetings raised by UDF.
