Kolkata: Employment by IT TCS company has touched a 50,000 mark in Kolkata.
Chairman of the Minister of Mamata Banerjee tweeted on Wednesday while repeating the commitment of the state government to produce work.
“It’s nice to share that the IT sector in Bengal has touched a new height.
TCS has provided work to 50,000 professionals in Kolkata! Back in 2011, only 15,000 and now, has increased 3 times.
Warm greetings for all,” he tweeted.
According to officials, the TCS campus in the field of Action II of the new city has produced around 15,000 jobs in recent years.
The IT giant has a strong 41,000 workforce in Kolkata in 2018 and the friction rate is only 3%, former Minister of Finance Bengal Amit Mitra has said before.
The company has reported 11,000 acquisition in the city for the past three years.
According to state officials, other companies such as Reliance Jio, Capgemini and the first sourt source also showed interest in establishing campuses at the Silicon Valley Hub, which will come in new cities.
A total of 74 hectares of hub 100 hectares have been ordered.
The government has told 100 more hectares for the hub.
The state government focuses on the IT sector for job creation.
Awadhizant has a powerful 18,000 workforce in Kolkata, the second highest in the IT sector of the city.
IBM has around 8,000 workers.
Incidentally, the cities of New Lake Lake, V Twin Towns together have more than 74 IT companies.
