Patna: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Wednesday review the government’s preparation for the procurement of rice during the upcoming Kharif Marketing season 2021-22, through video conferencing from the ‘Sankalp’ Hall of CM.
He asked officials to start the rice procurement process at the right time.
“The beginning of procurement at the right time will not only ensure the maximum procurement of rice but will also benefit the farmers,” Nitish said.
CM further said asking for officials of three departments – Cooperatives, Agriculture and Food & Consumer Protection – to conduct a combined survey to have the actual assessment of rice production in various districts of the country.
He asked officials to carry out the actual assessment of the district of rice production before repairing the target for procurement.
CM also advises officials to start the procurement of phases in various districts.
“The district of Padi Harvesting began before, procurement must begin before,” he said.
Nitish said at Bihar, a large number of people demanded rice ‘USNA’ (parboiled).
He asked officials to work towards an increase in the number of rice factories that produced parboiled rice.
In addition to rice parboiled, Arwa rice must also be prepared in sufficient quantities.
Previously, the Secretary of the Food and Consumer Protection Department Vinay Kumar made a detailed presentation before CM about the preparation made for the procurement of rice in the marketing season of Kharif 2021-22.
The Secretary of the Preyasi Bandana Cooperative Department provides detailed information about preparation relating to its department, Primary Agricultural Cooperative Community Activities (PACS), their storage capacity and rapid disposal of procurement regarding procurement.
