“It has become a life and death problem for thousands of our fishermen whose livelihoods are under serious threats.
India cannot continue to be seen as a mute audience as the rights of Indian fishermen repeatedly trampled, “the Minister wrote.
Three fishermen were attacked by a group of unknown Sri Lanka residents around 9 when they were fishing in a plastic reinforced fiber (FRP) 16 miles of Southeast Marine offshore Vedaranyam.
They are robbed of fish nets, communication devices -gps & VHF and 30 liters of diesel fuel.
It stated that the fishermen were injured undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Vedaranyam, the minister’s head said the attack on the Tamil Nadu fishermen could be seen as an effort to keep them away from their fishermen rights.
“This was observed that the attack continued not guilty of Tamil Nadu fishermen by citizens Sri Lanka was clearly aimed at maintaining Tamil Nadu fishermen away from their traditional fishermen from Palk Bay,” Minister said.
