ThiruvananThapuram: The center has given permission for land acquisition for the Silverline project of the state government and the train has also cleared the project, said Chairman of Pinarayi Vijayan.
In an article written for ‘Chintha’ Weekly CPM, CM said the argument that the project would break the backbone of the country’s unfounded economy.
There is no government in the world that has not used loans for infrastructure development, which will rejuvenate economic growth and generate income.
There should be no second opinion about the fact that reducing travel time by a quarter will provide encouragement for the business sector, tourism and information technology, he said.
He said that the claim that thousands of families would be given homelessness by this project was wrong, because land acquisition would only be done by following the compensation package that had been announced.
He also remembers how the Gail Project, Highway and Waterway are executed by draining all public fears.
He added that the government would carry out public hearings to eliminate fear of the people and also accept the opinions of representatives of the Silverline project.
Many international institutions, including the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), have advanced offering financial assistance for the project, said Vijayan.
It can be noted that the center only provides ‘in-principle’ approval for project and final approval has not been received.
While the DPR has not been cleaned by the train Ministry, the funding department for the Crore RS 63,941 project has not received a final form because the proposal for external funding is waiting before the Department of Economy (DEA).
The state government has submitted a proposal to take advantage of foreign funds with RS tones 33,700 crore for the project.
The proposal of the country for DEA said that the country was looking for funds from JICA, ADB, AIIB and KFW.
DEA previously searched for a business from the state government in the case of a special purpose vehicle (SPV) in debt service, the responsibility would be borne by the state government, without the support of the budget from the train ministry.
The state government then told the center that he was ready to take responsibility sought by the center.
