Cm to launch 4 infrra health projects RS 37 Crore today

Thiruvananthapuram: As part of the completion of the 100 Days of the LDF government, four projects worth RS 37.61 Crore will be inaugurated by the head of Pinarayi Vijayan’s head on Thursday.
These include two new intensive care units (ICUS) in medical colleges, Thiruvananthapuram, a new building for public health centers in Paika in Kottayam, a new drug testing laboratory at Konni and 1,000 days programs to be launched in all districts.
Health Minister Veena George said that several developmental initiatives had been resolved as part of the 100-day government program.
The government has spent RS 56.59 Crore in 213 health-related organizations in three phases until now.
In addition, four new initiatives were launched on Thursday, he said.
Two new Ides with as many as 100 beds have been established in medical colleges, Thiruvananthapuram, as part of advanced preparation anticipating the third wave of pandemics in the state.
A total of 17 ventilators will be arranged for these two ICUs in the first phase.
ICU has been established in such a way that if the number of pediatric patients increases in Sat Hospital, they can be treated in this ICU.
Modern ICU has been arranged by spending RS 5.5 Crore and renovating the seven and eight hospitals.
The new drug testing laboratory at Konni has been built at a cost of Rs 10 Crore.
This is a fourth medicinal testing laboratory in the state.
The laboratory complex, has a 15,000 second built-up area, has been built on three floors.
It can handle up to 4,500 drug samples every year.
The new center will serve to test the quality of drugs distributed in Kollam District, Pathanamthitta and Kottayam.
The new public health center in Piafa in Kottayam has been completed at a cost of Rs 19.93 Crore.
This new facility has an emergency, observation room, two in-view wards in view, small operating theater, palliative care, an ECG unit, etc.
A total of 11 projects under the Integrated Child Development Scheme which is a 1,000-day project will now be implemented in all 14 districts.
There will be as many as 28 projects, including 17 new projects, which will be carried out in all districts.
