Dharwad: Karnataka Karnataka Member Sahitya Academy has urged the state government to release the RS 1 Crore Grant promised to the KONKANI seat established at Karnatak University (KU), Dharwad.
Akademi member of Vasant Bandekar, Santosh Meree, Surendra Palankar and Pramod Shet have written to the Chairman of the Bakavaraj Bommai Minister.
They said the government established the KONKANI chair at Karnatak University to allow students who were interested in studying KONKANI for PG and PhD of course and had directed later Chancellor to take advantage of RS 86 Lakh in the University Development Fund.
