Nagpur: Hatred is brewing against the state government to order the most visited closure of Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) in Chandrapur.
Political Bigwigs, Local Associations, and Gram Panchayats have joined the choir demanding the reopening of the park, even with limits.
The park has been closed for an unlimited period due to the spread of Covid-19.
Chandrapur MP Suresh Dhanorgar moved the head of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray to ask him to reopen the park by following the Covid-19 limit.
“Already locals, who depend on the park for direct and indirect work, have suffered monetary losses due to the closure of the park during the first and second wave.
If the park must be closed, it will conflict with conservation as well,” said Dhanorgar.
Many are involved in work at the resort, working as a guide, the driver will be affected, he said.
MP shows that garden wildlife in the popular state – Rajasthan, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Assam – have not been closed for tourism.
Chandrapur Mla Kishor Jorgewar also urged Thackeray to allow tourism in the park to visitors who were fully vaccinated and with a limit of four tourists in one vehicle.
“Wildlife park is a safest goal compared to malls, cinema rooms, shopping complexes, and local trains that have been operating without obstacles,” Jorgewar said.
On Wednesday, more support was poured to require the reopening TATR.
Mohurli Sarpanch Archana Katkar wrote to the Minister of Tourism Aaditya Thackeray to keep the park open because 90% of local residents depend on tourism.
Similar requests have been submitted by the Gypsy eco-tourism welfare community.
Sanjay Misskar, President of Society, said, “During the first Covid wave, the park was open with limits.
Even if the case rises faster now, the severity of the virus is lacking and so also inpatient.
This does not mean we support the full circle tourism, but can be done with Maximum precautions and limits.
