TUTICORIN: Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin, who demanded Rs 30,000 per Acre as compensation for plant damage during Typhoon Nivar in 2020 when he was an opposition leader, had to announce the same compensation for damage caused by recent rain and flooding, BJP said State President K Annamalai Wednesday.
“The CM has announced RS 20,000 per hectare which is the RS only 8,000 per acre.
It is less than a third of Rs 74,100 hectares (at RS 30,000 per Acre) he demands as opposition leader.
This is not acceptable.
He saw farmers as friends as opposition leaders.
We don’t know how he saw them now, “Annamalai said when he interacted with reporters in Tuticorin.
Annamalai will be affected by the flood of Kankumumari Regency to distribute assistance.
He criticized CM’s visit to the exposed area as a staged person who did not serve the purpose.
When reporters show CM did not visit the affected areas in Kanyakumari District correctly on Monday, Annamalai said, “It is held like a tour package.” CM visits correctly cleaned and barricastered place with collectors, posing for pictures and left, he said.
“If he stepped out and holding a broken plant in his hand, he will announce Rs 30,000 per Acre,” he added.
The BJP leader responded very well to the comments of the Minister of Health MA Subramaniam on Tuesday asking Annamalai to get Rs 5,000 for each flood of families affected in the Chennai region of the government in the center.
He held the state government responsible for flooding as desiled only 600 km of channels and waterways in Chennai while 1,400 km had been abandoned uncleaned.
It stated that this was recognized by the City Administration Minister, the BJP leader added that people had suffered for more than a week after rain due to mismanagement by the state government.
“We condemn him (Subramanian) for forgetting that he was a minister of a ruling party and talked like one of the opposition.
Instead of debating it, hoping he would speak well, “he said.
Annamalai said that BJP will hold a demonstration in 11 districts in the Chennai region on Friday demanding compensation from Rs 5,000 for each of the family floods affected.
BJP will begin receiving applications from candidates for the selection of urban local bodies on November 21, he said.
BJP Mlaas Nainar Nagendran and M R Gandhi and former Kanyakumari MP PON Radhakrishnan accompanied by Annamalai.
They are distributed steps of assistance to affected people.
