Chennai: Roadblock for Square’s central project cleaned after the South Train gave a nodding for CMRL to continue the beauty work planned in front of the Moore Market Center and Complex Railway Station.
Beautification Work, which is part of the Crore Crore Square Square project, is almost finished in front of Ripon buildings.
The project also involves other passenger facilities for multi-capital integration to connect suburban trains, MRT and metro rails by outer trains and buses via pedestrian subways, underground parking, and 20-storey central square with Bays Bays.
Earlier this year, Southern Railway rejected approval for beauty work in front of the Central Railway Station and the Moore Market Complex quoting passenger obstruction.
This slows down the project.
However, the work planned in front of the Ripon building has swung full.
A South Railroad official said they had given permission to CMRL to do the work of the mains of the square on the railway near Chennai Central and MMC.
“We have communicated it to CMRL.
The work will include landscaping, seating, canopies and pergola, the path includes the official.
A CMRL official added that the work in front of Ripon buildings will be completed at the end of this month.
“South Railway gave us a nod to beautify their place just two days ago.
The work we planned in front of the center and MMC will take two months.
We will delete the cement block on the surface and have a new paving separate from other features,” said the official.
While working for a pedestrian subway and underground parking is underway, CMRL will immediately float the tender to seek investors for the construction of multilevel midstal plazas.
Plaza is expected to have office space, shopping areas, and hotels, and lounges wait for passengers and bus crews.
The Plaza will have Bays buses on the front for local buses and outstation to pick up and deliver passengers.
“We have planned three-level underground parking.
Excavations are ongoing for the bottom of the two levels,” the official said.
