C’nagar farmers may immediately use drones to spray pesticides

(By S Ramesh) Mysuru: Farmers in the Chamarajanagar border district are very likely to use the technology to improve their results, and to the end, they can immediately employ quad or drone copters to spray pesticides and fertilizers on their plants.
The field trial that was carried out using the drone obtained from a company based in Chennai by Chamarajanagar Krishi Vignana Kendra (CKVK) has produced the desired results, and they are interested in using it on agriculture.
Calculating clear profits from hiring drones, sources in CKVK say that it helps save time and money, especially when farmers struggle to find workers.
“During demonstrations, we found that tasks such as spraying pesticides across livestock can be carried out by drones in a matter of hours, while it will take two workers throughout the day.
This drone can be attached to a 10-liter tank and even 20 liters, depending on size field, “said the source.
The display feature available with Drone allows farmers to standardize spray volumes, and speed, depending on the planted plants in certain fields.
Farmers can rent a drone service at a price of Rs 400 per hour, and use it to spray pesticides, fertilizers and other nutritional supplements.
As part of its efforts to popularize the use of drones on agriculture, CKVK officials have invited fertilizer owners to demonstrate.
Pointing to the health hazard that the conventional pesticide spraying method requires, CKVK Chandrashekhar agriculture told Tii, “Drones can be a solution to this problem.
In addition, this makes it possible to spray chemicals when the pests are actually active, and one can be flexible in its use depending on Changed climax conditions.
It also makes it possible to spray all agriculture uniformly.
“Applying the initiative, the leader of the farmer Kurubur Shanthakumar asked the government to buy drones under the ‘Kristi YanTradhare’ scheme where farmers were encouraged to use various agricultural tools and equipment by renting them.
The first Director of Agriculture Manganppa said that drones could be very helpful in spraying cross field pesticides larger than three hectares.
“The government has distributed spraying machines operated with batteries at subsidized prices in Krishi Samparka Kras to small and marginal farmers,” said ManganaHappa to Ti.
