CNG still pocket-friendly compared to Gasoline Gas

PUNE: The cost of compressed natural gas has risen by Rs1.10 each kilogram to get Rs56.60 at Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and Urban components, however also the Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited asserted it guaranteed 60% saving when compared with gas and 40 percent in comparison with petrol at current cost levels.
Officials in Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) worried that there are a marginal effect on a kilometre running price of compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles because of the price increase.
The purchase price of a litre of gas has gone over Rs100.
The expense of petrol has also risen to greater than Rs90 a litre from town.
An official blamed the CNG’s cost increase to the increasing operating costs, labour and fixed prices throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
“But, there’s not any change in the purchase price of piped gas,” he further added.
Many autorickshaws, buses and tens of thousands of personal automobiles operate on CNG from the area.
Another official stated MNGL was providing uninterrupted CNG in Pune via its growing network.
“Throughout the pandemic limitations, MNGL continued to gas emergency vehicles along with other related vehicles operating on CNG despite fall in sales due to fewer commuters on streets.
The job of improvement of infrastructure can be under way in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and adjoining regions amid the pandemic limitations,” he explained.
“The setup of new CNG refilling channels has brought down the waiting period of cars to refill the gasoline.
The MNGL is attempting to pay for maximum regions by placing up channels all around town.
The suggestions for much more channels are being discussed with all the government concerned,” he further added.
