Guwahati: The court here on Wednesday sent the Managing Director of the Industrial Cooperative Bank, Assam, Subhra Jyoti Bharali, to the custody of the judiciary.
The police have arrested Bharali on Sunday on charges of criminal conspiracies, extortion and criminal intimidation against one of their employees.
Rustom Raj Brahma, officers are responsible for the Panbazar police station, said the police arrested him based on the fired by one of the bank employees, Gokul Talkukdar.
“Talukdar accused Bharali forced him to take a voluntary pension and demanded a bribe of Rs 1.50 lakh to retire,” he added.
Sources in the police said some of Bharali’s feet are currently in process.
