Coimbatore airport expansion: Protest property owner

Coimbatore: The owner of the house of UPPilayapalayam, whose state of the state government has proposed to expand the airport coimbatore, protest in the collector’s office on Wednesday urging the district government to find land suitable for them, not enough to cover the land and construction of buildings.
The protesters said there were 110 houses in the field of land proposed for acquisition.
Consider the number of empty landowners who have advanced to give their land, they are numous.
Of the 110 homeowners 20 people have got money.
The homeowner said that despite their demand for alternative land for them agreed upon by district administration at a consultative meeting in 2017, the same thing was not considered now.
With the state government has given money sanctions to be disbursed for landowners, they say that they will be left without a place to go.
Explain the difficulty of S Chandran, homeowner, said that someone who lives in a house built on four cents soil will get compensation around Rs 30 to R 35 Lakh.
Given the land price in a 10 km radius, the money is enough to buy only four cents.
They will be left without money for home construction for them.
“Compensation that arrives by officials only covers our land costs.
We will not get anything for the building.
If we have to build a house, we have to invest Rs 2,000 per square foot, which means Rs 20 Lakh will be needed for a house measuring 1000 square feet , “Chandran said.
Other Protester said the collectors later in 2017 convinced land in Arasur Village.
He urged the district administration not to retreat on appointments.
If they get land, they can use the money to build a house without hassle, he said.
Chandran said that they had explained their difficulties to S Sameran district collectors.
