Coimbatore: City Police arrested four young men on Tuesday for killing M alias Sait Bakrudeen, a former convict in the case of the 1998 coimbatore Blast Serial.
Sait was killed in connection with theft of goats.
The police said two other people involved in the murder escaped.
The people who were arrested were identified as SBudhakir, 28, younger brother Mohammed Ali, 23, his friends were Nazif Mohammed, 24 and Ansar Mohammed, 24.
All came from Nanjundapuram Italian near Kurichi in the city.

The people who were arrested notified the Podanur police that they carefully followed Sait Bakrudeen after he stole a goat from Abudhakir’s house on Monday morning.
Sait keeps a goat at a goat meat kiosk.
They approached Sait and asked him for stealing goats.
However, he threatened them with a knife.
Abudhakir Sulaiman’s father took the police to a goat meat kiosk.
Sait is under the influence of alcohol.
The police asked him to go to his house and instructed him to visit the station later.
When Saits left, six men followed him and attacked him with iron and wood.
Then, Saits was found unconscious with a severe injury.
He rushed to Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH).
Podanur police registered a case below Section 307 (trying to murder) from Indian Code.
When Saits died, the police changed the case to 302 (killing) IPC.
The Podanur police inspector was a Nattern and the team arrested four young men on Tuesday afternoon.
Sait has served 11 years in prison after being punished in the case of Both Bomb.
