Coimbatore: The doctor’s team at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital removes needle sewing 7.5cm from the neck of a girl aged 19 years after a complicated operation.
The needle has penetrated the trachea, past the C4-C5 vertebra and is located close to the artery.
The doctor said that the girl was taken to the hospital two weeks ago with an injury to cut itself on her neck with the intention to commit suicide.
While the girl was treated for injuries, she was sick continuously in the neck area.
The doctor found the existence of sharp foreign objects in scanning.
The doctor’s team of departments such as ENT, surgical surgery, vascular surgery and anesthesiology discussed this case and decided to carry out operations to remove needles.
It was a challenging case considering the needle location.
The doctor said that it was closely bordered by the right vertebral artery, which brought blood to the brain and the spine and the right nerve foramina, which was an important structure in the spine containing existing nerve roots.
“It’s no less than the miracle that the needle avoids vertebra arteries and nerve foramines.
If the artery pierced needle, he will die in a few minutes.
We are still wondering how all the needles are included at least 4 cm from the skin.
The process of removing foreign objects is complicated.
X -Ray the latest C-arm helped find a foreign body appropriately, “Head of the ENT Department Dr.
Ali Sulthan.
While they initially treated external wounds, he did not divulge the needle he had entered.
The necessary steps were taken to provide psychiatric counseling to the girl.
Recently, postoperative checks were done and found that he really came out of pain.
