Coimbatore: The gang killed a man in Coimbatore on Friday night after he brave the opponent by posting on Instagram photos he held the sickle.
The deceased has been identified as K Ashok Kumar, 26, from Hudco Colony.
He is a construction worker.
He married Kawsalya and had a three-year-old daughter, police said.
Ashok Kumar was recently posted on Instagram’s photo he held sickles.
The photo has the song Chennai Gaanaa Utara – glorifying Rowdyism – and background music.
At the post, he dares the opponent to visit his area.
Ashok Kumar has a previous hostility with Manikandan, Shanmugam and his friends.
Shanmugam and his friends consumed liquor at the bar on Friday night.

While disputes occur, some people intervene and mediate peace.

Shanmugam and his friends Shiva, Babu and Amarnath followed him and intercepted him near his house.
They returned to fight with him.
They took out sharp weapons and began attacking Ashok Kumar.
He suffered injuries on his chest, head and hands.
He rushed to a private hospital from where he was referred to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.
Doctor CMC stated that he was taken dead.
A police team from Saravanampatti Station rushed to place and conducted an investigation.
Based on complaints from Ashok Kumar’s wife, a registered case.
A team was formed to arrest the suspects.
