Coimbatore: overload trucks cause roads to caves in the flower market

Coimbatore: Road Caved on Street Devangapetai in Poo Market on Wednesday morning because it can’t resist the heavy truck with bricks.
The truck was also stuck on a caved-in road.
A city corporate officer said the truck, who came from Bengaluru, had missed the main road to avoid the police and was taken to the streets to reach the hardware store at Puram Hospital.
K Srihari, 23, a resident of Devangapettai, said, “Immediately after entering the Devangapetai road in Poo Market at 11am, the road gave up, damaged the underground drainage pipe below it.
The truck was tilted to his left side and stuck on the road that surrendered.
“He said the truck driver had left the truck and escaped from the area when they reminded the police.
However, the truck owner arrived at the place in the afternoon after the police warned to confiscate a vehicle.
“Other vehicles were taken to load bricks and remove trucks from the road,” he said.
Officials City Corporation said the land under the road had loosened because of the rain that was unrelenting for the past few days.
“Therefore, the road cannot withstand the burden of trucks that are overloaded.
We plan to force a fine of the truck owner to damage the underground drainage pipe.”
