Coimbatore: Coimbatore Police on Thursday arrested a 26-year-old man because of stealing 20 sovereignty of gold jewelry from the house of an engineer on ondipudur.
The police also restored stolen ornaments from thieves.
The person arrested was identified as Sudohnu, 26, a native of Kalakkad in the Tirunelveli district.
He worked as an autorickshaw automatic racer at the godown private company in Ondipudur and he lived in the rental accommodation along with his friends in Janata Nagar on ondipudur.
S Syed Ibrahim, 30, Metrupalayam’s native, was in a rented house with his family at Senthil Janatha Nagar on the ondipudur.
Ibrahim was chased into (mechanical) and worked as a manager in a private company.
Ten days ago, he locked his house and went to his hometown with his family.
On Monday night, after returning home, he found the key to the side of the house on the ground floor broken open and 29-sovereign gold jewelry was stolen.
Arjunan who lived on the first floor of the house filed a complaint with police Singnalur and claimed that the thief took three sovereignty of the gold ornaments from his house.
The police arrested Sudgaikan who lived on the first floor of the house along with his friends and recovered 20 rulers of stolen gold jewelry from him.
