Coimbatore: As the Southern Railway has a restoration announced from several train services from 1 November Railway users want the authorities to regulate the Mettupalayam – Coimbatore mainstream electricity several units (memu).
This train is operated as a special train with three times a limited rate and stops.
It covers a distance of 43km by connecting coimbatore with suburban areas such as Thudiangur, PeriyanaCkenPalayam, Karamadai and Mettupalayam.
At present, you only do one day trip, compared to five.
“Coimbatore has recorded a high level of vaccination compared to other districts, making citizens less vulnerable to infection.
However the train has not regularized the mettupalayam – coimbatore train, “said M Jai Kumar, a member of the Railway Mettupalayam consultative committee.
Additional Division Division Manager Salem P Sivalingam said that the train service gradually restored was based on the Covid protocol issued by the government.
“Crowd factors are considered to operate the train, remember the pandemic.
This problem will be taken to notification from senior officials and decisions will be taken immediately, “he said.
